Everything we do at Kotisauna starts with the people on the bench. Sauna has always been about gathering, so we want it to be part of your week, not a treat you save up for. That shapes our choices. Cold showers instead of a cold plunge keep building and running costs down, and that keeps the price down too. We skipped tiles, mirrors and upgrades for the same reason. We're not perfect, and there's more we want to do, but every choice we make starts with who it lets through the door.
How a session goes.
Sit in the heat, cool off under a shower, rest outside, then go again. No experience needed: a host walks you through it.

Water on the stones makes löyly, the steam that rolls over the bench.
- 02 · Cold
A quick cold shower brings your temperature back down.
- 03 · Rest
Sit outside for a few minutes. It's usually when people start chatting.
- 04 · Repeat
Head back in when you're ready. Most people do about three rounds.
Bring a swimsuit, two towels and water. That's about it.
If you grew up with a hammam, banya or jjimjilbang, you already know most of this.
